Installation Ended Prematurely

Usually Jungle Disk will install to Windows without any trouble - but sometimes, a computer's software (nearly always due to antivirus) will block the installation of our driver file. In these situations, you'll see "Installation Ended Prematurely" at the end of your installation attempt.

Not to worry! This issue is usually very easy to address and is just 2 steps:

  1. Add your C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ folder to your Antivirus "File/Folder Exceptions" (sometimes called Exclusions)
    • This will help your antivirus antivirus to ignore the drivers folder while Jungle Disk tries to install the driver.
  2. Delete our driver file from this directory as well if it was able to partially install.
    • If it was partially installed, you'll see the file at C:\Windows\System32\drivers\cbfs3.sys
    • If you saw this driver, it was partially installed. After deleting it, you will want to restart your computer to fully unload the driver.

And that's it! Next, run the installer and it should complete successfully this time.

What if this didn't work?

Perhaps you have another antivirus software program installed as well?

If you do, please repeat Step 1 for that antivirus suite and then repeat Step 2 again to see if that fixed things.

What if I don't have any other antivirus installed (I double checked) or doing this with my other suite didn't help?

You may find that these additional steps help you to resolve the issue:

  1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Programs & Features and uninstall Jungle Disk from here (if it's showing).
  2. Delete the following folders:
    • For Windows 7 and 8: C:\ProgramData\JungleDisk\
      For Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\JungleDisk\
Note: These folders are hidden by default. If you don't see it, you can paste the directory into the Windows Explorer Address Bar and press Enter.
    • For any version of Windows: C:\Program Files\Jungle Disk\
  3. Reboot your computer.
  4. Disable all Antivirus software temporarily.
  5. Download a fresh copy of the installer by logging in at, and clicking Download Software. If given the option to "Save" or "Run", choose "Save".
  6. Once the download completes, run the installer.
  7. Once the installation is complete, be sure to enable your antivirus again! It's very important to keep your computer safe with Antivirus during normal use.
