With the release of the new Backup Vault feature in the 3.0 products, many of you will want to shift from using the Legacy Backup option to the Backup Vault. This article will outline the steps to successfully setup your backup jobs under a Backup Vault.

1. Under your existing Legacy Backup jobs, you will want to use the Export feature to export the various settings. (You may need to check the ADVANCED OPTIONS checkbox in the lower left of the Configuration)

2. Create a backup vault by clicking on the "Setup Automatic Backup" option. Once you have selected that option, look for the "Import a Backup Job" section and click the "Import from file..." button.

3. Once you have successfully imported your backup jobs, you will then need to allow your Backup Vault backup jobs run to completion. Depending on the amount of data you are backing up, this could take hours, days or weeks.

4. After your backups to the new Backup Vault are complete, you can delete your old backup data. The easiest mechanism to perform that action is to use local web access at http://localhost:2667 in your web browser. NOTE: Prior to deleting your old backups, you will want to ensure that you disable Previous Versions for Deleted Files. Once the delete process is complete, you can re-enable that option.
